How much notice do you require?

Cakes are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

For Wedding and Bespoke cakes, kindly request a minimum of 6-8 weeks notice.

For Mini cakes and cupcakes, we require 1-2 weeks notice.

How do I order a Wedding or Bespoke Cake?

For Wedding and Bespoke cakes please complete our enquiry form.

Kindly note that filling out the form does not confirm your cake order. Rhi will be in touch within 1-2 business days with your quote and email confirmation.

The Mess. reserves the right to cancel or decline an order if the requested needs cannot be met.

What is your refund & cancellation policy?

3. Order payments

3.1 All Order payments are processed via third party payment gateways.

3.2 Orders for 'Wedding & Bespoke Cakes' require a 50% deposit within 24 hours of receipt of a confirmation from us, with the remaining 50% due on the date that is two weeks prior to the Delivery/Pick-up Time for your Order.

3.3 Orders for 'Nena Mini Cakes' and for 'Cupcakes' require payment in full at the time of purchase through our Website.

4. Postponements, cancellations and refunds

4.1 Deposits are non-refundable within six weeks prior to the Delivery/Pick-up Time for your Order, and non-transferable to new orders or other persons in any circumstance.

4.2 For 'Nena Mini Cakes' and 'Cupcakes', if you cancel your Order:

(a) before the date that is three-weeks prior to the Delivery/Pick-up Time for your Order, you will be entitled to a full refund of the purchase price;

(b) after the date that is three-weeks prior to the Delivery/Pick-up Time for your Order, but before the date that is one-week prior to the Delivery/Pick-up Time for your Order, you will be entitled to a 50% refund of the purchase price; and

(c) within one-week prior to the Delivery/Pick-up Time for your Order, you will not be entitled to any refund.

4.3 Acceptance of any changes that you request to your Delivery/Pick-up Time for your Order will be at our absolute discretion and may be subject to additional fees.

4.4 We are unable to issue a refund for an Order that has been consumed (wholly or in part).

Do you sell non-gluten free cakes?

Unfortunately, we are unable to sell non-gluten-free cakes. As a Coeliac, Rhi takes pride in quality control of all of her cakes to make sure they are delicious for all customers. And trust us.... you can't tell the difference.

Do you use real flowers on your cakes?

Yes! We adore incorporating natural flowers into our cakes. If you desire specific blooms, please understand that each flower is seasonal. We'll collaborate with you to choose a colour palette and hand-select flowers that align with your preferences.
- 1 type of flower (+$15-35)
- 2 types of flowers (+$50-70)
- Speciality flower requests (3-4 types) (+$80-100)

Do you provide undecorate cakes?

For food health & safety reasons, we do not offer undecorated cakes for purchase.

Can you copy this exact designs?

Rhi refrains from directly replicating cakes designed by others, both to respect copyright laws and to ensure our customers' satisfaction.  We appreciate the use of inspiration and mood boards, so Rhi can draw inspiration from images and interpret them in her distinctive style, showcasing her own signature and personal touch.

Please provide the name of the Company/Designer for proper crediting on social media.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes, we do offer cake collection, however, please remember your cake is a delicate piece of art! Once the cake leaves our care, it becomes your responsibility, and we cannot be held liable for any damages that may occur during transportation.

Located in St Kilda, Melbourne, our address will be shared upon order confirmation. Each cake is carefully boxed for secure transit.

Please arrive promptly during the following collection times:

Thur to Fri: 6pm - 8:30 pm
Sat: 9 am - 2 pm

How do I transport my cake?

All cakes will be packed and stored securely in a cake box. For safe transportation of your cake, the best place is on the floor of your car. This is typically in the passenger side footwell or your car boot. It is advised to drive slowly with extra care.

During warmer months, it's strongly advised to keep the car air conditioner on. Avoid placing cake boxes on car seats and refrain from pressing on the sides of the cake box; support from underneath is recommended.

Do you deliver?

Yes! Delivery is available for an additional fee starting from $49.95, and is subject to availability. It's highly recommended, especially for 2-Tier cakes and larger, to ensure the delicate designs remain intact during transportation.

Cakes are typically delivered 1-3 hours before the event for display. Refrigeration is crucial, particularly in warmer months, for earlier deliveries.

How long will my cake last?

Your cake will stay fresh for up to 3-5 days from the pick-up or delivery date, but it is always best when eaten fresh. All cakes come with storage and cutting guides.

How do I store my cake?

We recommend refrigerating your cake until ready for display. If refrigeration is not possible, ensure it is kept away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

Before cutting, remove your cake from the fridge 30 minutes to 1 hour beforehand. Adjust timing as needed based on the weather and temperature conditions.
