Our Process

Step 1: Enquiring
The first step begins with our enquiry form via email or via our website. Please fill out as many details as possible so we can start the design process.

Step 2: Cake Concept & Design
Discussion of your cake design and inspiration to finalise all elements of your creation including sizing.

Step 3: Quote
Initial quote of design including delivery. At this stage a 50% deposit is required to confirm your order.

Step 4: Delivery
Rhi will work directly with your event planner to ensure a smooth delivery of your design including scheduling and serving coordination.

Portion Guide
At The Mess, we offer a variety of cakes in different sizes and price point. This guide is to give you an indication of pricing when choosing your cake. You can also request custom sizes, shapes, slabs, and fake (foam) cakes.
Our cakes come with 3 layers and are available in 1 to 3 tiers, ranging from 5” to 10” in diameter. When you receive a quote, we’ll suggest a cake size and the number of portions based on your choice. Keep in mind, the number of portions can vary depending on how the cake is sliced.
Our cakes can be cut into 2 portions, Dessert (larger slices) and Coffee (small slices). The below measurements are cut in a grid.
Dessert size: 1” x 2” x 6”
Coffee size: 1” x 1” x 3”
When you receive a quote, we’ll suggest a cake size and the number of portions based on your choice. Keep in mind, the number of portions can vary depending on how the cake is sliced.
